This evening, I was at the Popular bookstore browsing a magazine when an old man, probably in his fifties, asked me if I found the magazine interesting. I told him it depended on personal taste. He then asked me whether I felt lonely, since no one was with me. "I'm used to it", I answered. The next was a shocker.

The old man asked me if I wanted to be he's friend. I, being lonely and offered friendship from a pleasant looking man, obviously said "NO, thank you". He was a stranger. So the old man went away, disappointed.

I leanrt something that day. It is not a good idea whether you are a guy or girl, to go up to a complete stranger, and ask him or her for friendship or dates.

I feel so lonely. When will this end?
