Shenzhen, Captain Atom and BATMAN

Shezhen: A Travelogue From China by Guy Delisle
Delisle's experience working in China is fleshed out here. Very nice read, ith interesting observations and comments on the city of Shenzhen, its people and its culture. Delisle also managed to go to Hong Kong for a day, and we get some insights into the state as well.

Captain Atom: Armageddon by Will Pfieffer
A 12 issue maxi-series created to reboot the Wildstorm universe. It makes comparisons between DC and Wildstorm. Other than that, there is nothing much good about the series other than being a standard "superhero trapped in another dimension's Earth" story.

Batman and the Monster Man by Matt Wagner
Batman: Year Two. This is a rewrite of an early Batman story (Detective Comics #36, nine issues short of #27). I liked it.

Batman: City of Crime by David Lapham
The characters in this arc 13 parts seem to be out of character. Batman saying "Hello Oswald"? Shouldn't he give villians the silent treatment when he's not asking a question. Lapham has done a great job in building the atmosphere of Gotham City, making it feel alive and sinister. If not for the bad concept, this comic is otherwise very well written.
